Massage and Lymphedema Therapy

What are the benefits of massage therapy?

Massages promote personal wellness and relaxation but many people don’t realize massages can plan an important role in healing during cancer treatment. Massage therapy is a complementary treatment helping to reduce the side effects of cancer treatments like radiology, chemotherapy, surgery and drug therapy.

Alaska Medical Specialties believes complementary treatments like massage therapy play a major role in a patient’s healing and wellness. We are committed to providing our patients with the highest level of care in every aspect of their treatment plan. We work with a licensed massage therapist to offer the highest level of massage therapy to our patients. Licensed Massage Therapist Nicholette Eley also incorporates her bodywork with aspects of yoga, Pilates and breathing for neuromuscular reeducation. Her specialties include oncology massage and complete lymphedema therapy.
