Testicular Cancer

Testicular cancer can strike men at any age, but is more common in young men. The good news is that it is generally rare and usually treated successfully. As with all cancers, however, early detection is the best advantage you and your doctor can have. The urologists at Alaska Medical Specialties are experts in men’s health and we have reliable testing methods and treatment options for testicular cancer.

The most common symptoms of testicular cancer can usually be detected by the patient or his spouse in an at-home examination. If you can feel a new lump on or swelling of one or both testicles or in the scrotum area, contact us for a diagnostic exam. Symptoms could also include “heaviness” in the scrotum or dull ache in the abdomen or groin area.

Surgery, radiation and chemotherapy are all treatments used to defeat testicular cancer. The urologists of Alaska Medical Specialties are the most experienced and accredited men’s health doctors in the state.
